It's Easy Being Green

Check this out:

Re-use your old oj/milk cartons as a receptable for your food scraps. We saved this old bucket from KFC, and if you look carefully under the lid - it's not chicken, hahahahahahaha! Imagine arriving to a family potluck with this. "Hi Mom, Hi Dad...thanks for having us over - here's something that'll compliment the lumpia!"

The nice lady at Zen Sushi gave me this old bucket which serves well as a dog food container.

Garage sales and thrift shops sell fantastic drinking glasses that can easily double as flower vases, have several on-hand for last-minute hostess gifts - just pick up some flowers from the store, or cut them fresh from your garden (or if you want to be all thug about it, help yourself to some hydrangeas from Seward Park in the summer). I've done it before, it's great! These are Lily of the Valley from my yard.

When cleaning out the aqaurium, use the old aquarium water as fertilizer to water your vegetable garden. Plants benefit from the fish pathogens.

Re-use sandwich bags.

Also, if you're a menstruating female, check out these thangs:

Borrow books from the library instead of buying new ones.

Find new uses for old things. This serves as a great decorative container for our coffee filters.
